Rental Requirements:

WEEKEND RENTALS

All Saturday reservations require a 2 day rental minimum as CAG offices are closed on Sundays. 

DRIVERS LICENSE

A valid government-issued driver’s license will be required of all drivers at the time of rental. The license may not be expired, cracked, broken, or a temporary permit/license. International customers will be required to provide a passport, international drivers license and proof of insurance

MINIMUM DRIVING AGE

All drivers must be 25 years or older.

INSURANCE & PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS

All renters are required to provide proof of full coverage liability insurance. We do not sell insurance coverage for our rentals. If you do not have full coverage verifiable insurance, we cannot rent a vehicle to you. We do accept certain credit card rental insurance which incurs a larger security damage deposit. All renters must have a valid drivers license, valid credit card for security damage deposit, and verifiable auto insurance with a minimum amounts in property damage coverage. Debit cards are accepted, but the deposit may be held longer after return. 

INTERNATIONAL RENTERS

All international renters are required to provide verifiable proof of FULL COVERAGE automobile insurance in the United States (US territories excluded).

SECURITY DEPOSIT is required and the amount of the security deposit depends on the vehicle

RENTAL PERIOD/ LATE ARRIVALS

A 24 hour period constitutes as a full rental day. Any time after agreed return times, the vehicle will be billed at an hourly rate until returned. 3 hour rentals can only be used Monday - Thursday during business hours (not all vehicles are available for hourly rentals). Renters that are late for their scheduled pick up times will be allotted a 2hrs grace period window. Thereafter the renter is at risk of forfeiting their reservation in full. They can receive a credit for up to 60 days (depending on availability). However, after this time their previous reservation will be forfeited in full.

MILEAGE

All daily/ hourly rentals include between 50 to 100 miles per day. Excess mileage will be billed at a minimum of $ 1.99 per mile up to $7.99+.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

Additional Drivers may be added for a charge of $50 per day per driver. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance will be required for each additional driver.

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

We offer airport pickup and drop-off service to the surrounding airports.  There is a drop-off and/ or pickup fee of $125+ each way.

CANCELLATION POLICY/ DEPOSIT/ INVOICE HOLDS

Daily / hourly rates are non-refundable if reservation is not canceled within 24 hours of the booked reservation. If reservation is booked with less than 24hrs notice, the invoice amount paid automatically becomes non-refundable. The renter can then be issued a rental credit valid for up to 120 days for the total of their canceled reservation amount. Rental credits are subject to the vehicles availability.  Please note that all vehicles are subject to a security deposit prior to the reservation. Deposit ranges from $500 to $4,000+ depending on the vehicle. This deposit is refunded back to the renter upon return of the vehicle with no damages or traffic violations. This can take up to 2 weeks. All prospective renters have a maximum of 2 HOURS from the time of receiving an invoice via email to pay it in full. After this time, the reservation hold will be released and it will then become bookable to other potential clients.

DELIVERY/ PICK UP 

CAG offers home delivery/ pick up services @ $125 each way (minimum depending on the vehicle choice). On arrival a Carbon Auto Group representative will make three attempts to contact the renter via door bell, phone calls and emails. After three attempts and a waiting period of up to 20 minutes, the representative will deem the rental as a "no show" and the renter will lose half their rental amount which was paid.  All chauffeuring that requires 4hrs minuims end by 12AM MIDNIGHT .

CURRENCY

We accept all major credit cards (check/debit/prepaid cards are NOT credit cards and will require additional deposit and verification. All payments must be in U.S. currency only.

DEBIT/CHECK/PREPAID CARDS

Payment may be made by the following: Visa, Master Card, Discover Cards and check/debit cards as forms of payment. YOU MUST CONTACT US PRIOR TO YOUR RENTAL FOR DEBIT/CHECK/PREPAID CARD POLICIES. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF YOUR RENTAL AND FORFEIT OF YOUR DEPOSIT. 

CASH PAYMENTS

Cash payments are NOT accepted. All renters must have a valid credit card to cover the rental rate and security deposit.

CHECK PAYMENTS

Personal checks or handwritten checks are not accepted for any reason. School, government, or institution checks are accepted providing we receive the check a minimum of 14 days prior to the pickup date. We will STILL REQUIRE a credit card authorization to be placed on file – this is for incidentals only and WILL NOT be charged unless vehicle is returned with less fuel, damage, etc.

FUEL

Fuel level will be checked and confirmed at the time of rental. The customer is required to bring the vehicle back with the same amount of fuel as when rented. Fuel discrepancies will be billed up to $10.00 per gallon..

GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS

Vehicles may travel throughout the Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio area. Any other areas to be traveled will need written authorization from Carbon Auto Group, LLC. All travels are regulated by GPS tracking units and MPH monitoring.

HOLIDAY HOURS

Pick up and drop off for these days are available and may be arranged by contacting us in advance.

PETS

No pets are allowed in any vehicle unless crated. It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is clean and odor-free and has no signs of pet hair, etc. Service animals are always allowed in our vehicles with proper documentation. A $100 cleanup fee will be assessed to any vehicle with any signs of pet transport.

OVERSTAYS

Keeping rental vehicles longer than originally scheduled is generally not a problem provided the vehicle is not already reserved for another customer. Verbal extensions (calling by phone, etc) are NOT honored. Customer must sign a new rental agreement with extended dates and times in order to extend a rental.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS

International renters will be required to present a valid passport in order to rent a vehicle from us. We will not accept credit card coverage as insurance. Credit card coverage is not primary and does not provide any liability coverage for the vehicle. We require liability coverage for ALL renters.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Prepayment at a minimum of $1,000 US is required with all reservations. Payment may be made by the following: Visa, MasterCard and  Discover.

PICKUP/ RETURN

All renters are required to pick up the vehicle directly from our location (arrangements for delivery, etc, must be prearranged a minimum of 72 hours prior to pickup)

PREPAID RESERVATIONS

Prepaid reservations are available by contacting us within 24 hours after booking your reservation online by giving our office a call and letting them know you would like to prepay for your rental. All prepaid bookings are completely nonrefundable if cancelled.

EARLY RETURNS

Vehicles returning earlier than the scheduled time on the rental agreement will not receive a refund or a credit.

RESERVATION HOLD TIME

Reservations are held for three hours from the provided pickup time or one hour from confirmed flight touch-down time. PLEASE provide your flight information when you book your vehicle. This will ensure that we know when you are arriving and to avoid having your reservation cancelled. We will attempt to contact you via email and/or phone. If we are unable to reach you in the three hour time or one hour after your confirmed touch-down, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation and retain the reservation deposit.

SMOKING/ CLEANING

Smoking is NOT allowed in any vehicle. We impose a minimum $500 fine for ANY detection of smoking including smoke odor, ashes, butts in ashtray, etc.

VEHICLE DELIVERY

CAG will deliver vehicles anywhere in the Houston area for your convenience with a delivery service charge applied of $125 each way.

REFUSAL OF SERVICE

In the event that a customer displays what is deemed to be "aggressive" behavior by CAG (loud speech, abusive language, unreasonable request, violence, theft,etc.) Carbon Auto Group, LLC reserves the right to cancel / terminate any scheduled or current rental at any time for the safety of it's staff and property. CAG also reserves the right to randomly perform a background check on all renters which can affect the eligibility of the renter. In these cases, up to 50% of the paid invoice amount will held at a cost to the renter.

Representations, Personal Information and Privacy

Carbon takes customer privacy very seriously. It is Carbon’s policy that customer contact information will not be shared with 3rd parties except as stated in our Privacy Statement found at www.carbonautogroup.com At the time of booking and rental, you agree that such privacy policy shall be incorporated by reference as a part of this Agreement and that You have read such Privacy Policy.  You affirm and warrant that any representations or statement made to Carbon in writing or verbally which would in any way induce Carbon to enter or not enter into this Agreement are true and that, should any such representations be found to be false or materially misleading, that You are hereby in violation of you rental agreement.

 

TRAVEL TO CANADA Vehicles may not travel to Canada for any reason.

TRAVEL TO MEXICO Vehicles may not travel to Mexico for any reason.
